So the Mariners are coming off a three game series against the San Diego Padres, where they took 2 of 3 to win the series.

The Seattle Mariners (32-34) take on the Arizona Diamondbacks (29-38) in game 1 of this 3 game series tonight at 7:10 p.m P.T. Jarrod Washburn takes the ball for the Mariners as he is 3-5 with a 3.30 E.R.A on the season. In his last start, Washburn gave up 4 earned runs in 6 innings pitched, but took the loss against the Rockies 6-4. 

Washburn opposes D-Backs starter Jon Garland, who is 4-7 with a 5.45 E.R.A on the year. Garland took the loss against the Houston Astros after pitching 7 innings and giving up only 3 earned runs in the outing.  So it should be an interesting matchup tonight.
